DLA-funded Equator Project coming soon!

We are very happy to announce that a new phase of Equator project interventions will run from the academic year 2025/26, thanks to sponsorship from a network of 8 NERC-funded Doctoral Landscape Award holders.

The CENTA3, CREATES, ACCE+, IAPETUS, IGNITE, CROCUS, YES-DTN and E5 Doctoral Landscape Award holders have committed NERC Flexible Funding to support the Equator Mentoring Network and Research School, annually for up to 5 years.

This new phase of interventions will be co-led by Dr Natasha Dowey (Sheffield Hallam University) and Prof. Sam Giles (University of Birmingham), with the Research School held at Sheffield Hallam.

Equator will continue to be supported and overseen by a fantastic steering committee, made up of representatives of the Equator community, EDI experts, and environmental organisations and professional bodies. New additions to our Steering Committee includes past participants of Equator- you can meet the team here.

We are incredibly excited to continue these impactful interventions for new generations of environmental scientists.

Applications for the new Mentoring Network and Research School will be launched in the coming months- watch this space!
